Monadnock Conservancy Hires Two
Conservation Project Managers double land protection staff

( KEENE)—The Monadnock Conservancy is pleased to announce the hiring of Anne McBride and Rebecca McGuire as Conservation Project Managers. In their positions, Anne and Rebecca will manage land conservation transactions, expand and refine the Conservancy’s land protection program, collaborate with municipalities and other organizations, cultivate and maintain landowner relationships, and conduct field evaluations of potential conservation projects in cooperation with other staff and volunteers.

Anne McBride, who replaces Ryan Owens on his promotion to Executive Director, comes to the Conservancy from the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, where she spent four years in land protection. Anne also has been a volunteer easement monitor, trail crew leader, and outdoor educator. Anne’s education includes a Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England and a Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College. Anne and her husband Richard Popovic live in Nelson.

Rebecca McGuire fills a new position, created to capitalize on the current window of opportunity for land conservation in the Monadnock Region. Rebecca comes to the Conservancy with a Master of Science degree in Forest Ecosystem Science and Applications from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from West Chester University. Previously, she spent time as the GIS specialist at Natural Lands Trust and as a volunteer habitat steward. Rebecca and her partner Marc DiGirolomo live in Winchester.

Founded in 1989, the Monadnock Conservancy is a nonprofit, membership-supported land trust serving the 35 towns of the Monadnock Region. Its mission is “to identify, promote, and actively seek protection of significant natural, aesthetic, and historic resources in the Monadnock Region; and to monitor and enforce the protection of lands in the trust.” Information is available by calling 603-357-0600, visiting the office at 15 Eagle Court in Keene, or browsing online at www.MonadnockConservancy.org.
