The Monadnock Conservancy hosts a children's outdoor program each summer. Our goal with these programs is to connect youth ... to the land, through spending time outside, primarily in a farm environment; ... to their bodies, through healthy eating and active living; ... and to each other and to the community, by learning to work together through farming, gardening, and nature activities. By partnering with local social service agencies -- Keene Housing Kids Collaborative, Monadnock Family Services, and Monadnock Region System of Care -- the Conservancy is able to provide children who wouldn't otherwise get such opportunities the chance to be outside on a farm, with space to run and have fun with other kids.
For 2019, there will be nine sessions in total, held on on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m., July 16 through August 13. Each session will be held RAIN OR SHINE. This FREE program is designed for kids ages 8 to 13, and is held at Tracie's Community Farm on Jaffrey Road in Fitzwilliam, N.H. Transportation from specified bus stops is available, and snacks and water are provided each day.
